I always use to tell my students that a port folio was the perfect opportunity to highlight their unique style and skill, and to only choose their strongest pieces for inclusion. Of course what I failed to mention was in a surprisingly short amount of time, they would look back at their carefully curated collection and realise that either their tastes have changed or everyone else’s have. That’s why I have gone digital – so that I can easily delete all the crap pieces.
